Attractions on safari in Tanzania:
Thanks to countless documentaries this is the place that many picture when hearing the word safari. The highlight here is the annual migration of millions of animals between Serengeti and Masai Mara. The drama that plays out with lions following the herds and crocodiles hunting in the waters they cross is a spectacle to see.
Bordering the Serengeti is the 2,5 million old Ngorongoro crater, created after a volcano. Here you are basically guaranteed close encounters with lions, buffaloes and black rhinos all with the amazing nature around.
A bit off the coast of Tanzania is the paradise island of Zanzibar. Here you can relax after a safari enjoying the sandy beaches, discover Stone Town, go for a spice tour, go dolphin spotting and go snorkeling or diving.
With its 5891m Kilimanjaro is the roof of Africa. The mountain attracts hikers from all over the world, all having the aim to reach the snowcapped Uhuru Peak. Along the way the track goes through rainforest, alpine meadows and on to barren cold high altitude tundra.
Gombe and Mahale mountains national parks:
These parks are located on the eastern shores of Lake Tanganyika and known for chimpanzees. Jane Goodall studied the chimps in these forests and groups have been habituated so you can go for the adventure of chimps trekking.
